Why are we even BOTHERING with these people?
Let the entire Mid-East blow itself up if they want to! There has NOT been peace in that region for thousands of years, and there is NOT going to be peace there in the foreseeable future!
Sorry, but we have a LOT more important things to spend money on, like fixing our own infrastructure, ensuring an adequate education for our children, and fixing our budget issues!
I wonder how many TRILLIONS of dollars the U.S. has thrown down the Mid-East rat-hole since 1948 or so??

What to do, one side wants to give them money and the other side wants to bomb them into the stone age.
    .
Yes, masterskrain, I have to agree, why are we even bothering with these people?
    .
    Sane reasons?

Ooh! An “Obama is a Muslim” birther! If you have a better idea of what to do in Egypt, I’d love to hear it. And if you’re wondering what we are getting for all the money we give to Egypt, do you like that Israel still exists? Then don’t whine about the price tag. It’s cheap compared to the crap we spend money on elsewhere.

Well, you see, it’s kinda like this: WE are a nation with a well developed political, social, religious, and cultural heritage, including a Constitution, Bill or Rights, and a functioning Legislative, Executive, and Judicial system. So . . . ! Since WE have all this, certainly the Middle East – and all the rest of the world as well, of course(!) – ought to have all this as well. After all, that’s what being good missionaries is all about, bringing OUR benefits to all those poor, benighted, barbarians who don’t have them yet – whether they want them or not, naturally!

    See? Easily explained. Isn’t it?

As to “inquiring minds (wanting) to know”: That might apply to the bird-brained nitwits who are still parroting the birther garbage, having nothing more to occupy their otherwise lonesome few brain cells, until O’Lielly, or Limburger, gives them another program to squaaaark about.

The intelligent people in the United States answered that imbecilic stupidity, at the polls, TWICE, already.

“Why are we even BOTHERING with these people?”

Because Obama said the world would begin healing as soon as he came to power.

“Ooh! An “Obama is a Muslim” birther!”

Once again, you bring up a straw man. He didn’t say Obama was a Muslim; he said Obama has an affinity for Islam. That’s been demonstrated, so he’s correct.

Now go back to your illogical world, and feel good about yourself.

I don’t know why people see this as a bad move. He was becoming a weird blend of dictator and puppet for terrorists. He’s not the kind of person they wanted to rebuild their country.

“Obama is smart not to stop military aid to the brave Egyptian military who deposed a corrupt religious fanatic leader.”

But didn’t Obama praise the corrupt religious fanatic leader when he came to power last year? People warned him then, but he’s the smartest guy in any room.

Nasser, Mubarak, backed by military, and our “buddies”. Sadat, a man of wisdom who sought peace in the MIddle East, assassinated by disgruntled “military types”.

From Carthage to Persia, north to Greece, the “birthplace” of human civilization has been a place of turmoil and war, so, what IS “civilization”?

It is enlightening that today’s “conservatives” and “deeply religious”, are satisfied with, or actually encouraging the destruction of the region, because of either ignorance, or a mythology based on ignorance, and violence. (WHAT is more “violent”, than the destruction of all humanity, and civilization, in a war called “Armageddon”?)

Yes indeedy, let the MIddle East burn!

Golly, world politics are complex and not always in black and white.

I think there may be some of our national interest there, seeing as how Egypt borders Israel, not to mention the Suez Canal being strategic and all.

Not in Obama’s view. His choices are always correct, until they aren’t, and then he says he never said that. He ignores those who disagree with him, and goes merrily on when he’s proven wrong, looking for another place to fail.

A couple of times now Israel has been mentioned in context of “why are we…bothering?” question.
    .
I assumed it was implicit that Israel was part of the middle east group included in the question
“Why are we even bothering with these people?”
    .
They are included, just as crazy as the rest of area.
