It’s sort of “ironic” that Lu says she’s paying by “Masterdad”, when he’d probably prefer that he wasn’t footin’ the bill…

“OMG”? Really? I know it’s just a comic strip, but is today’s generation of children so verbally lazy that internet abbreviations are now their preferred choice of language, even in a social interaction?

And seriously, Luann? You have a job at the library and you still rely on your Dad’s credit cards to pay for everything?

“On the other hand, why in the world would someone operating a traveling food truck need to have spent the money on all that equipment, when what it sounds like he really wants to do is be a caterer?”^Some food trucks stay stationary and don’t go around… we have some downtown that have secured their spots, and do good business…. ==So in a related way, if he does people’s gigs, he could be hoping to arrange to park the truck at people’s events and be contracted (and perhaps paid in advance by the host) to be the sole provider of food…. although to your point, one would envision him bringing food indoors, as opposed to an outdoor “block style” affair….

TJ has all the makings of a master chef andhe has the love of cooking, combinedwith a smooth easy flair and a knackfor dealing with food, which is quintessential. Why does he not go to cookingschool? This would seem to be a naturalfor him.

RE; paying for Quill to be leavin’ .

No doubt after last weeks “Nowhere” comments. That smug “in control” look of his will disappear when she leaves for college."

This payment is just setting the stage, so to speak, for future wedding costs.

Fully agree – doesn’t make sense. A truck is designed for one or two “meals” at a time. A caterer does bulk items in metal trays and keeps them hot in ovens. Maybe handling 20 would work. They could just leave the party and go to the parking lot to eat!

The teens I know don’t eat TJs gourmet dishes – they just order a bunch of pizzas for just 20. I mean, this isn’t some fancy sit down dinner is it? But I think TJ will get it right. “I’m a TJ fa-an!”

I agree with husky and Iluvlu, TJ is a very good cook, and always wanted to be a businessman, and this is goodIt will work, but of course there will be some situation that comes up. These are teenagers after all, teenagers who are being allowed to move on, along with brad and toni. OMG TJ being the best man, and the caterer!! Gahhhh.

TJ can cook, but catering a party, or even stocking a roach coach, is a very different matter from whipping up even a great meal for two or three. And we have little evidence of TJ’s organizational skills, or even that he has the means to cook for forty. There’s a reason that roach coaches sell food service food.

I don’t think it’s a good idea for TJ to be opening up the truck and catering at the same time. I get that the catering is what he really wants to do, but he should get one business off the ground before he starts another one.

“Luann, are you really so naive that you would give a credit card number to TJ? You may want to check out 11-26-93.”.Why are you so against the idea that TJ can change?.A little bit of historical trivia for you:.During the 1940s and 1950s, an American prison warden, Clinton Duffy, was well known for his efforts to rehabilitate the men in his prison. Said one critic, “You should know that leopards don’t change their spots!”.Replied Warden Duffy, “You should know I don’t work with leopards. I work with men, and men change every day.”

“And for those still concluding mobile food outlets serve only slop… "^Exactly! As I was mentioning yesterday, we have some that do Indian cuisine, BBQ, etc… ==“I see no technical difficulty in cooking for 20 people in one group versus 20 random people lined up at the same counter.”^I agree… it takes some prep beforehand (marinating, slicing, chilling, etc.) but if you know you have an engagement ahead of time, and have knack and an enthusiasm for culinary arts (as TJ shows) it can be done… and food for 20 done this way can be manageable…..== And to go along with your point, TJ did say that he planned to specialize in ‘healthy cuisine’, so there should be understanding on both sides already up front if they really do engage his business….

If he’s gonna go high-end caterer, he should call the wagon “Entraîneur du Gardon” According to Google Translate, that’s French for “coach of the roach.” ^^ Wrong kind of coach, entraineur is coach as in football coach

Seems to me this could be an interesting party. Delta is reinventing herself as a party girl in addition to an overachiever, Luann and Quill are parting (for now), and TJ is trying to become a legitimate entrepreneur and learning to pull things together as a caterer. If Tiff comes to the party (and I think she will) there are lots of opportunities for kerfuffles. Three Stooges anyone??
