The only renewable energy here is that epended by the stars in Dancing With The Stars.

The only thing we can do is reduce our production of carbon dioxide so that we reach a critical mass that enables spontaneous sustainable osmosification after the point of equilibrium for metabolism is surpassed and the ionic agglomerates can be controlled to produce more energy. This system needs to be fuirther developed.

Do the judges even have a name for their panel?

I’ve followed “Frank & Ernest” since the late ’70s, and it’s been consistently entertaining all those years. In our local paper, it’s back in the Want Ads, along with “Ziggy.” Is that a good or a bad thing, i.e., does it attract readers into those sections who might not otherwise have gone? (That’s an interesting subject in itself, and too long to discuss here…).Anyway, a small quibble: I think other stars would be in a Stellar Panel. The word “solar” is probably connected solely (pun intended) to our sun, Sol. I know it spoils that joke. F & E fans, don’t eviscerate me in comments, please. I cry easily.

I agree. F&E puns are definitely a notch above what you see in all the other strips.

entropy (On a more earthly scale…….)A measure of the energy that is not available for work (in humans e.g.) in a closed system (government e.g.) which is evolving toward a state of maximum entropy

Technically correct, but we have a localized source of energy that we can draw upon. Our star is a type of big battery that will last a long time. Earth’s surface receives a very small percentage of our star’s energy output (I have always read, about one/ two billionths). Theoretically we could use that energy directly or in the form of various renewable resources, and thus meet all our energy needs..If the needs increase (and they always do), we could build solar collectors in orbit. This would proceed all the way to construction of a Dyson sphere that would collect all of our star’s energy. .Can you imagine the political squabbling that would occur when that came up for a vote?.I notice that by the end of the day, the comments on these sites take on cosmic proportions and significance. It’s fun! Think no small thoughts…

I thought a Dyson sphere was the round bottom of a Dyson vacuum cleaner that aids in navigation and collects and distributes dust etc. into a closed container/vessel.

Perhaps a Dyson Sphere around the sun to collect energy particles and aim them onto a super size solar panel would be the least disruptive device – no turbulance induced, and a most controlable situation. The sun’s power could keep it running and clumps of atomic particles would negate the need for outside lubrication.
