Frazz: We're not saying it WILL happen. We're saying it COULD happen.
Caulfield: IF that ice cream truck booping "Turkey in the Straw" drives down the street where the roofers are cranking Journey's greatest hits.
Hmmmmm….Thought it was yet another one of those grilling jokes you get this time of year….Other than that, I don’t have a clue how it translates to roofers’ music….I mean roofers can be irritable, but…..Now a truck with a ten thousand nails in it from several nail guns I could understand….
That “Turkey In The Straw” noise on ice cream trucks is just pure evil. It makes me want to destroy, and I’m not that type of person. Putting a copy of the city ordinance under the nose of the the driver does not always stop them. I’m happy to leave it to the roofers if they’ll step up.
When I was a kid the ice cream trucks just rang a bell “jingle, jingle, jingle” and all the kids heard it perfectly well and came running.

I like Alice’s (from Cul-de-Sac) version better: Turkey Through a Straw.

Mallett really has a grudge against Journey. This isn’t the first time he’s dissed them in his strip.

I don’t see this as a criticism of Journey. He’s just saying that it presents a stark contrast to an ice cream truck version of “Turkey in the Straw.”

I like them, but then I’m a child of the 80s and can’t stand the CountyRAP they play on the “pop” stations these days…..

Made me think of when my roommate would come in and turn on the radio, and then get out his guitar and play a totally different song to what was on.
