All three of my kids, when they were infants, would wail away until I held ‘em, sitting upright in the palm of my hand at arm’s length. That was usually sufficient for them to degas and settle down.
One of my grandkids would be wailing her head off, and stop short when I stepped outside. I’d go back into the house, and the wailing would resume. I’d go back outside and round and round the house we’d go . . .
