    No, neither of them have a smirk to even begin to match Cheney’s, and that magic transition to sneer when he tells America to bow at his feet.

    ‘Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed. And now our coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing that country.’

    Power corrupts. Absolute Power corrupts absolutely.Presidents campaign on honor, transparency, and a better America. Once in office, they rule with hubris, self aggrandizement, and an odd sense of invulnerability.Congressmen and senators are worse.Two parties, like two snakes, each eating the other and leaving the people and nation they are sworn to defend to fend for itself while they fight their internecine wars to dominate in fund raising and voting majorities.Is it possible to charge a politician for violating their oath of office?Curiously,but Respectfully,C.

    Isn’t it at all interesting that both Democrats and Republicans, “liberals” and “conservatives”, find that their greatest gripes against Obama are relative to the Bush policies or actions he has NOT REVERSED?

    Tigger, did you notice, at ALL, that’s exactly what I’m saying? My disappointment is indeed that he didn’t immediately stop what Bush did, like Gitmo (Even Bush said it should be closed!), and out of control DOJ, like Ashcroft and Gonzales is NOT a model to follow.

    Because. We. Only. Have. One. Party.

    What, exactly, has to happen before you grasp this fact?

    @dtroutma

    I was beginning to think the same thing …

    The thing that has convinced me that there is, in fact, only one party, is the clear and obvious fact that when it comes to the poiint, neither party makes any effort to put right what the other did wrong. Both parties are pushing different aspects of the same agenda.

    And the last couple of decades have made this so patently obvious that … I think people are starting to figure it out!

    Hate to say it, but you are probably right.

    Certainly Bush II was a solid gold candidate.

    I heard a caller on NPR today complain that this is the “biggest scandal since Watergate”, and that Obama should be impeached. Unfortunately for all of us an impeachment process regarding a stained blue dress has derailed for the foreseeable future any possibility of impeaching ANY president.
