I’m suddenly remembering a man who was talking abrasively to a woman and the woman’s dog pee’d on his leg. He resisted the obvious urge he had to kick the dog and stormed off cursing. As he left earshot she whispered to a friend, “He deserved that.”If Mr. Obama is involved in the AP or the IRS scandal, it will be very appropriate for his ‘lap dog’ to turn on him likewise. However, unlike too many commentators, I am willing to wait for the legal wheels to turn and for the results that are found. In a Civil society, people are assumed innocent until proven guilty. Acting only on opinion belongs to mobs, not a civil society.Respectfully,C.

It is interesting to note that the news industry is experiencing the same problems as the music industry, for the same reason: almost all media outlets are now owned by a very few people, and they tell us what they think we should hear. There are alternative outlets becoming available, which is valuable to musicians, but not for news. News doesn’t pay much, and to do it right sometimes involves physical danger. So we mostly get the “Where-it’s-Happy” news team, which breaks every so often so 5 people can talk at one time on split-screen about Jodi Arias. The alternatives are mostly: “I am giving you more reasons to hate whatever/whoever you already hate”. Do you think this has to do with why we fight amongst ourselves, rather than demanding better from our “representatives”?
