What law was broken. Other than the IRS misinterpreting the statue in 1959 under Eisenhower and granting tax exemption to organizations that were clearly political?
I have a rare chance to agree with Onguard on this one, Ossiningaling. Creating “red flags” that would target conservatives should be illegal, but even if they aren’t, the follow up questionnaires were not relevant and if not legal, should have been. Using a entity like the IRS as a tool to target a particular group is simply wrong. It’s one thing for the DoJ to use a warrant to get info held in the IRS, but it is not the IRS’s job to investigate specific groups. They are just supposed to make sure the forms are filled out properly and the information is correct. They went beyond that in this case.Maybe Ossining is right and no laws were broken, but if the law wasn’t broken, the code of conduct is.Respectfully,C.

Captain Blood?!?!?!?As it happens, I was reading Sabatini when I was a teenager, so I have no idea whatever what that corner of the cartoon is about.Does somebody else?If he had said Sea Hawk he might have had the beginning of a point. At least that book had a trial in it. Well, actually, so did Captain Blood, but the fact was that Peter was really innocent, which Oliver wasn’t particularly. And neither of them took the fifth, since England didn’t have one.

If people considered congressional hearings to be something other than political ads then maybe they’d be more willing to say something.

Interesting that Jeff didn’t show Cheney and his entire crew who refused to testify, to anyone, at any time, under oath.

In general, there must have been a crime for someone to go to jail. No crime was committed here! Can you wrap your brain around that?

I hate America, where they don’t force people to participate in witch hunts.
