It’s a catch 22 for both parties. If they allow many more to stay, then they will be legitamately counted in the next census giving red states more electoral votes and representation. They will also boost the Democratic parties numbers. Also, they could upset the economy by demanding increased wages.
Well, that doesn’t make sense since they can’t even register, but if they do become legit, they will still be resident aliens which means that they can’t vote. But, the republicans would still lose clout and let’s not forget their industrial base that relies on detention camps, transportation, etc….
This is inregards to your post of 2 June on Stone Soup: “Live in Houston, you will love Winter and curse the Summer.” Houston isn’t bad except for: traffic, floods, hurricanes and above all DO NOT LIVE DOWNWIND FROM THE PAPERMILLS.
