Tax-exempt-status is intended for organizations that inform – not misinform.

The tea party does NOT oppose paying taxes. They oppose paying excessive taxes. The government should not be in private industry and picking the winners and losers. It bothers me that when a person buys a Volt, it costs me and you $10,000. And they are still not selling.

Let the individual decide what he or she wants to buy.

Oh, Steve…there you go again with the hyperbole.

After years of my pleading, my husband is FINALLY going to end his subscription to the San Diego Union Tribune!! Yay!He finally decided that the harm from the rightwing propaganda (such as that illustrated here by water boy Stevie Breen) far outweighed the benefit of reading the sports section and Al Lewis on financial stuff.

Hubby also disliked the fact that a large section of the sports page is devoted to the musings of Ed Zierolski, a “sports hunter” who’s basically just a guy who glorifies killing stuff.

The paper may as well have been bought by the Koch Brothers. Their acolyte Doug Manchester (of “Prop 8 rocks!” fame) is the new owner. You know you’re into Reichstag territory when your front page spouts the slogan “The World’s Greatest Country and America’s Finest City!!!”

LIstening to the right-wingers in the last four years reminds me of radio programs over 40 years ago, when we listened to “Hanoi Hanna”. Tokyo Rose did the same thing, and today we have Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, and “that faction” in Congress that has no contact with “facts”.

“Audit” = to examine financial accounts. Examining their applications to see where they plan to spend their money, and how, IS an “audit”, as part of the application process.

But then Republicans, like in the Oliver North case, where he sold weapons to a declared and official "enemy of the United States, declared by Congress AND Executive Orders; IS giving “aid and comfort” to the enemy of the United States, (especially as some of those materials were traced to the killing of American troops), but they couldn’t figure out the meaning of the “T” word in his case, and no, it wasn’t “taxes”.

Yeah, even when the NAACP was being investigated under a GOP POTUS.
