(I just cut and pasted my comment from Steve Benson)I’m willing to bet money that US satellites provided the intell that gave Israel their targets. Mr. Obama IS staying out of the way, he’s also learning from the Syrian response about what the US might be able to do if/when we go in. ^The Reuters report quoting a UN rep that Syrian rebels may have been the ones who released the gas is being disputed by the administration which makes me feel that a domino has been tipped. It would have been easy for Mr. Carney to used the UN statement for cover on the Red Line issue, but he chose to claim that the admin still believes the Assad administration or people under Assad’s command used the weapons.^Israel attacked Hezbollah’s weapon stocks stored in Syria, it did not attack Syria’s gov’t. This has happened before. Syria did not shoot a single Israeli aircraft despite their advanced antiaircraft resources. The next few days/weeks should be interesting.Thoughtfully,C.

They are trying hard to get us involved. “Help your ally to help your enemy”

If the Israelis want to enter into that quagmire in Syria, let them.…Perhaps they forgot the lessons that their parents and grand-parents learned in Beirut 30 years ago and need a “refresher course”.

Israel has every reason to get involved in Syria. The US does not.

I have no trouble with considering Israel an ally, but we appear to have to go above and beyond what we do for other allies for them. They seem to have no trouble getting into trouble and dragging us into it.

I do not want us in Syria, and I believe if we get involved, it will only get worse – just look at our past exploits.

Are you blaming the Syrians for the murder of Tali Hatuel and her daughters?

Netanyahu and Likud make “diaspora” seem a good thing. Perhaps things would be helped if anyone sane actually gained control in Israel? Continually attacking countries, neighbors or not isn’t a good idea, but then our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan went so smoothly, only a few hundred thousand dead folks, but an ambassador making a bad mistake in Libya and getting a whole four Americans killed is so, so, much worse than lying to get over 5,000 killed.

Take McCain with you. He missed a lot of “Action” in Vietnam and now he wants US to make up for his lost battles.
