Honeybunch didn’t play that right at all! There are two options here. 1 – Say fine, and put your meal away to be leftovers tomorrow. 2 – Take a raincheck for tomorrow night. Say, “I have dinner about ready but we can go out tomorrow night.”

He could have noted her fixing supper, stopped her progress and suggested she instead just go to the nearest take-out place and pick up something for thier meal while he held down the fort. She’s have wiggled all over herself with pleasure with that suggestion. don’t you all think?

Like too many couples, they seem to prefer having misunderstandings. I prefer to go along with whatever my man suggests. Macush has it right.

Does Mrs. Drabble actually have a first name? All I ever see Ralph calling her is Honeybunch…and of course all the kids just call her Mom.
