Hmm, Texas. Three homicides related to law enforcement people. Five to 15 persons killed and over 150 injured in an explosion at a fertilizer plant (gee, the same “fertilizer” Tim McVeigh and many other “mad bombers” have used), at least it is getting coverage.

The thousands of gun deaths, half homicides in the U.S. every year, only a relative handful get any “press” outside the local communities.

The Constitution calls for protecting the “general welfare”, as well as “common defense”. That is a role of governments (federal, state, and local) that goes beyond just repelling foreign invaders, but securing liberty, freedom, and yes, safety (welfare AND defense) of all in our society.

The “certified crazies” are a very small component of our society, and “problem” with our total casualty count. It is the “crazies” who fear the government THEY ELECT, and who manage to let their paranoid fantasies dictate what they demand of legislators, who listen more to them than the “general public” looking for “defense”, who are our REAL problem.

turning a bombing at the boston marathon, or the slaughter of schoolchildren and their teachers as some kind of patriotic thing is pretty sick.

Rights not: Gosnell is on trial for killing “viable” delivered infants, and his other cases prove he’s a quack, not a true “doctor”.

BTW, cracked open a fertilized egg this morning as our friend has roosters and hens, but I didn’t call it a chicken. There IS a point at which that definition changes, and it, for humans, DOES occur sometime in the third trimester (viability outside the womb) so there is a “question” with late-term abortions that I agree with some of the arguments for more restrictions on those late-term events. However, even the bible says that if a slave owner kills a pregnant slave, he dies. But, if he attacks her and she survives, but loses the fetus, he only pays a fine, so there IS a difference, even in that “holy guidance”.
