We invaded Iraq the 1st time (Desert Storm) to — in GHWBush’s words — “protect our way of life”. We all knew what that meant: Kuwait’s oil was too important to trust to Iraq.

But still our way of life is being eroded. Sad times.

It took me a moment to process this. Then I realized I’d just had the same discussion yesterday with some friends. Why shouldn’t people have to show registration and proof of insurance for something much deadlier than cars?

Gee, I thought the fact that the car being repoe’d is a Ford Fiesta, along with the wall decoration, was a dig at the stupidity and tunnel vision of tea-partiers.

Wrong … (Again !) … Tigger. More than 75% of ground combat was outside Kuwait’s borders – most all inside Iraqi territory …and that doesn’t count the air campaign. US forces crossed the Iraq border from Saudi Arabia (General Schwarzkoph’s now famous “Hail Mary” assault) in the first minutes, to flank and surround Saddam’s army and engage the Republican Guard between Kuwait and Basra. Where did you get THAT specious information?

You left out / failed to account for the “Well Regulated” part … a common misunderstanding.

Hey, “Doc” … I’m not clinically paranoid…but I am highly suspicious of people who are incapable of ever speaking the truth – this applies in particular to people in public positions of authority – elected or not. I happen to believe that our public officials have given us plenty of reason to distrust them. This is nothing new, but it gets worse with every bunch of miscreants that get into power.

Omnius said, 1 day ago“The cowardly delusional tea partiers see conspiracies in every direction, unfortunately that’s all they see about our first black president.”-what an Ominous (evil omen) that post is!American Conservatives and moderates in the Tea Party movement can speak for themselves, if permitted, but I In spirit support them, and I do not know anyone that judged Obama by the color of his skin or eyes or ties he chooses!-Obama is opposed for the belief system he embraces and practices and tries to force on all Americans. He was the most Liberal senator by his record. As President, he is a radical and pushes any legislation that will “transform” the USA from Free Enterprise and citizen Freedoms of Liberty written into our original government documents…..-Obama is working to transform the USA into another failed Marxist “equal sharing of Misery and Serfdom” federally controlled State. Obama is certainly not "doing the work of the God of the Bible; IMO his agenda is inspired by the spirit of the Lucifer honored by his mentor Saul Alinsky.-

‘Poorly-informed, unengaged, gullible an’ ignorant voters “get” them into power…by believing the lies and the innuendos and giving them their votes…Right now, about 1in 2 Americans are on some form (or multiple forms) of public assistance (entitlements in one form or another)…They vote to keep those entitlement dollars flowing no matter what – and the “what” may be a socialist/marxist nation where a free nation once existed…You should wake up an’ smell the formaldehyde, Doc – the bunch of miscreants who now hold most of the power in Washington are taking us down that slippery slope as fast as they can – to the demise of America …Hell, no – I’m not paranoid…but I am concerned, and suspicious…and wary …
