Joan: Dear Val...Paris is so wonderful we don't CARE that the airline lost our bags!
Joan: Wally and I did a bunch of shopping and he was really cheerful about it.
Joan: They have GREAT underwear here...
She’s writing postcards. Yes, we all know they’ll arrive before we get home, but picture postcards are necessary to prove we’ve been where we say we’ve been…
p.s. I just had to add that I sometimes read the comics in the morning, while my kids are eating breakfast, and normally they glance over, but that’s it. For some reason, when I pulled up Stone Soup this morning, they both jumped up to read it. Thank god, I’m a faster reader than they are and I was able to close the window! I wasn’t ready to discuss that at 7am!
Jan will have to age the kids a little if Joan really does become pregnant. Luci is still a baby in arms and she was born in 2007! She’ll have to progress to at least toddler age to make room for a new baby in arms, which will put her to Max’s age. So then Max will have to grow up a little and become less toddler-ish. Maybe he can finally become full-sentence verbal!
there’s clothes you wear at home … and there are clothes you wear for vacation … of course, one of my favorite comics for one happily married couple – the wife hands her husband some lingerie and says, “honey, look at this old nightie I found in the back of the drawer!” he takes it and throws it on the ground … “yeah, now I remember it!”

Ummm… Joan’s writing a letter instead of composing an email? She’ll be home before it arrives!
