Someone said Schulz wanted to do this as a longer story line. He really should have. I don’t know how comics used to be. I’ve heard of some that had stories that lasted weeks or months. But one week stories lines are way too predictable these days.
I have always loved this story line, ever since Schultz first published it. It really captures the Lucy character in all her self-proclaimed and reveling-in-it crabbiness. Quintessential Lucy Van Pelt! Now…what will the World War I Flying Ace (Snoopy) think about all this?
I think one of the longest running storylines involved Peppermint Patty getting enrolled in what she thought was a fancy private school, but which actually was a dog obedience school.

Also CB….now he has Lucy to harass him again, …the brief vacation must have been a true refresher of relief, obviously never to be known again.
