Good for him admitting he was wrong but there were plenty of more concrete reasons than “natural cynicism” to oppose the Iraq War. & it is Bush & Cheney that need to apologise & admit they were wrong, not that I am holding my breath.
To be honest, I can’t blame you for supporting the war. Its easy to act like it was obviously a bad idea (there were some bad signs, but they were milder) at the time, but with what the public generally knew at the time was that Iraq either had or was attempting to get WMDs, and that if we intervened we could establish a free democracy in the country instead.
