Oh, please, indeed! Why not cut the snake in half? Is Leopold suddenly afraid of knives or blood or death?

And here I thought Leopold’s plan was to smash Travis’ jar, which in turn would rip through the snakes belly, freeing Travis!

It would have been more gruesome and ironic to snake the snake with a plumber’s snake.
