Wally: Well, Joan, we DID it. We're on a plane to Paris!
Joan: I don't believe it...
Wally: We'll be there in 10 hours.
Joan: I don't believe it...
Wally: Once we're there, you'll quit worrying about the kids.
Joan: I don't believe it...
You’re gonna do it, aren’t you, Joan?? You’re going to spoil the whole trip for Wally, right? Perhaps your mind would be set right if you knew how much the trip cost. That might end your martyrdom.
It’s not her fault, it’ll be Wally’s. She didn’t initiate the trip, she didn’t plan it, she didn’t schedule who was watching the kids. How do you expect her to enjoy a gift that has so much guilt attached to it?
She should be ashamed, ruining this once in a lifetime opportunity for Wally. She’ll have those kids the rest ofher life..who knows how long she’ll have Wally.
I feel sorry for Wally. Imagine having to spend a ‘neurotic’ two weeks with Joan. If he hadn’t already lost most of his hair, he’ll be pulling it out before this trip is over.
I moved to France for 3 months and couldn’t take my dog….I cried the entire plane ride and the whole first day. When I saw my first castle in Germany ALL was (almost) forgotten.
I’m happy going ANYPLACE with my man (or nowhere). That is the way it needs to be. We can both enjoy just about anything. Some of the things may not provide much of a photo op, tho’ – A boat ride in the Dells with water spray and wind makes me look like a drowned rat.

Knowing the arc of this comic, she’ll finally enjoy the “alone time” as the plane is landing back home.

Give her a break, it’s just a comic! And besides, if she just weaned the baby, her hormones are probably going nuts.

If she worries about the kids it’s because she must not trust her mom and Val to care for them properly. Not just missing them.

No matter how old or how far, you never quit worrying.

Wow 10 hours? Where are they leaving from again. I went to Paris in 1999 and it was a seven hour flight from NY

It’s a good thing she’s not a member of government – ANY government. Long political trips, no time with your family at all. She’s a mess.

Too jealous! I want to go to Paris.
