The flaw here is that the court dismissed the suit for lack of standing — the “proof” needed was not that spying, in general, happened but that the plaintiffs were being spied upon.

It’s the same legal issue that keeps people from suing over churches that lobby in defiance of their non-profit status, and maybe it should be legislatively addressed, but it’s not a sign of “fascism.”

So, set up a sting to prove they’re spying on you.

Fascism is generally defined as the combination of government and business deciding what is best for the country, defined as government and business, of course. The needs of the public are subsumed by the needs of the overseers.

There are many reasons to be disappointed with Mr. Obama’s administration, this cartoon depicts a big one. He ran against this kind of gov’t behavior as a senator. Respectfully,& apprehensively,C.

“The fault lies in the tattered remnants of our Constitution, about all of which is left are the 2nd Amendment …”

Even the 2nd Amendment is tattered: Only the second half of the Amendment is enforced; the first half is totally disregarded.

Fascism means you might be bad, but you want everyone else to see somebody else as badder than you are, while you get to be the secret baddest one of all.

History is full of twists like that.

The Nazi Party was the Nationalist Socialist Party and rose to power on promises of jobs, of redistribution of wealth, and of making those who exploited the common man pay for his “crimes.” They did it by rewarding the big money guys on their side, by stomping on the neck of anyone who opposed them, and became a horrible buzzword for evil.

What any party does when it gains control seems to be more of the same, just into their pockets, and the only way to avoid it is to make sure no one party or group is in control.

And for some reason that scares people more than the threat of horrible govenment.

it’s important not to “cry wolf” regarding fascism, Ted, because when it finally does raise it’s ugly head, we will need to recognie it and defeat it.For a thorough understanding of fascism and how to beat it, read Trotsky’s “The Fight Against Fascism in Germany.” (Pathfinder Press)Cheers!

Wolf:Thanks.I knew the Mussolini quote but had forgotten it. Ansonia: Capitalism: You have two cows. A corporation comes along, buys your land and your cows, hires you to work for them, kills your cows and imports beef from China at a price higher than you would charge if left alone. And you have to go on public assistance because the corporation doesn’t pay enough, and sends your job 3 states away before sending it to Mexico, where you slaughter horse, not beef. And now you’re renting because you sold your land AND house to the corporation. And the government says “Sorry. You signed the contract.”

““Circular Logic” = If you go far enough Right, you end up on the Left, and if you go far enough Left, you end up on the Right!”That’s a rather simplistic description; but, the far right and far left do have one critical factor in common: the heavy use of the coercive powers of government, to force the populace to comply with their diktats.
