    My wife just throws all the garbage in the back yard. I put out the recyclables twice a month. It works.

    Back in ’72, the Club of Rome published The Limits To Growth, claiming that we were going to run out of all sorts of resources if population kept growing. It turns out that this “global think tank” assumed that if we need iron, we have to mine it, refine it, use it once then discard it. Apparently, they never noticed that even back then we were reusing all sorts of metals. I guess they never heard of “scrap iron for Japan.”

    According to published sources, the recycling in my county gets dumped in the same landfill as the garbage. Big savings there.
