    Sad, really that baseball chose to throw tradition out the window. Opening Day was in Cincinnati so they could have a citywide holiday and hold a parade to celebrate. Now, that’s been kicked to the curb. Thank you MLB and thank you ESPN for that.

    I hate when a close game with men in scoring position… and the pitcher comes to bat … strike out that is.

    The designated hitter rule was first proposed literally decades before it was implemented (but of course anybody can propose anything…) I personally like it, and I also like that the National League doesn’t use it. (I personally hate inter-league play, but that’s a whole other rant!)

    Today, at least, Opening Day IS a holiday! In the old days there were protests about Sunday baseball. If they could only see Opening Day on Easter Sunday……
