Canuck, I believe kellykid’s exhortation was “to do the right thing” without regard to the politics of it. I don’t see where KK implied the right thing to do was to bash anybody.
And I repeat that I wish there were more people on the Hill who would “do the right thing” without regard to politics. Even if I disagree with their opinion of what the right thing is, I would have more respect for them for acting on their beliefs, not politics.
Your interpretation of Kid’s comment is 180 degree different than mine! Perhaps you jumped too soon?
Canuck said: * ”In that case, believecommonsense, we are all very happy that there is no one on the hill who IS capable of this, even if you wish there were.”*
Perhaps KK meant it as you interpreted, but I stand by my belief that elected officials doing the right thing, voting for what they believe is right regardless of the possible effect of their re-election or relationship with special interests, would be a positive change …. even when their beliefs are different than mine
and why on earth would you come to the conclusion that I wish there were people on the Hill bashing Sotomayor over the head …
you’re jumping to too many conclusions too fast, I imagine, and you’re rather rude

Just do the right thing, without consideration of whether you’ll get re-elected or not

“Minority whip”, backlash. I like it. Nice play on words, Mr. Breen!

Could we behave civilly enough to not need either bats or whips in our political dealings?
