    @Piers Baker:

    Generally, Americans don’t have a term for that, as we don’t share…we just eat all the cookies. :-) But if we WERE to share our biscuits, we’d “dole them out” or possibly “portion them out”. You Brits often have more-polite-sounding terms for things. Your mums raised you properly!

    And anyone out there who feels they need to respond nastily to my comment: Get a life…one with a generous sense of humour please!
