I’ve seen this strip be cornier than I would wish for, and sometimes dull, but I’ve never seen it get the point of absurdity where a preacher actually starts a wedding between a horse and a man.
I happen to like this arc, and I suspect that Jim has a good surprise for us at the end. Any story arc that features Joel and Rufus is a good one in my book.
