Having female friends killed in Iraq, my question is, who thinks they HAVEN’T been in “combat roles” (like medics are always in the thick of it, it’s in the job description.)

But, how come it’s the “right wingers” who still think women can’t carry a gun, well, unless it’s at home, or church, or school classroom.

As one lady put it, ‘I keep missing my man, but my aim is getting better’.

The ONLY opposition to this move is from the right. It’s not most conservatives, of course, but it’s only conservatives.

Here we go: .Internet television personality Allen West was not at all pleased with the Pentagon’s decision to lift the military’s ban on women serving in combat, calling this part of “another misconceived liberal vision of fairness and equality.”.

Mind you, Allen West is a right-wing nut (he claimed that over 80 members of congress were card-carrying members of the Communist Party), but until a few months ago he was an actual Republican member of the House of Representatives. He also was chased from the arms services in disgrace after making violent threats. But the tea party loves him because he’s black, believes all kinds of stuff that’s not true, and hates Obama with irrational fervor. So he almost won re-election. .Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson also opposed the measure, trying to draw a parallel with the Violence Against Women Act that the Republicans have blocked. Of course, the parallel does not particularly stand up to any scrutiny — serving in the military is the same as domestic abuse?

Tigger, you never seem to “get a point”. 1. My daughter is a better shot than most of the men i know, including NRA members. 2. I’m opposed to ANY teacher in the classroom carrying a weapon, male or female. AS has been proven in MANY different “experiments”, more guns in a crowded classroom, when "It’ hits the fan merely means more casualties, period.

My mother was the best shot in the family, but I still wouldn’t want her in combat.
