Geez…has the lobby even intimidated people from commenting on this strip :-) I for one think we’d be a great choice instead of most in the past who have no combat experience. Obviously not a requirement for the job although certainly helpful when considering the ramifications of that department.
Interesting that the latest election in Israel shows up as a “rebuke” for Netanyahu, and that many, if not actually most, ISRAELIS, can’t stand him, or the right wing extremism of Likud. However, other right-wingers do give him a slight margin of support.
Hagel called it exactly right in addressing AIPAC and the evangelical Christians in this country who defend Israel no matter what. Interesting on the evangelical side, it’s only because they want all the Jews to either become Christians, or burn in Hell, ’cause you know, the “Rapture” is just around the corner, just like Paul, Mark, Luke, and James (brother of Jesus) taught some 2,000 years ago! They may still have a long wait, unless Netanyahu and the extreme right on the Zionist side, get their way.

I have not heard him saay anything Against Israel. Our government does everything Israel wants. the thing that really bothers me, is the rise of anti-semite. More racial and cultural intolerance. anti-women, anti- black, anti-Latino, anti-Jew , anti- Muslim, This is out of control and stupid.
Oh, Absolutely! The GOP said even before he took office the 1st time that they would NEVER vote for ANYTHING that Obama Wanted. even if it was a bill that they had proposed. So they have been against even Jobs! They rejected to jobs bills. The last thing they did before leaving in the fall was to say “NO” to the jobs for vets. We have to act against RED-MAPping!
livHi Mickey, it probably helps to know that I have the bad fortune to live in Kris Kobach’s Kansas. Where they killed Tiller as well as Brownback and other nut-house-extremists. It’s had to be a liberal here.
I don’t want to pick a fight either, but a few days ago a man said he thought there were more cheaters on Gov. programs than the real needy. Since I live on social security, and don’t know anyone on SS that doesn’t live a ways below the poverty level, I told him that there are a few cheaters, but I have never met one. I know a lot of needy people thoughSome people don’t think a severe calamity can happen to them.

And it is not just over political affiliation, race, religion and sexual orientation, although they are certainly major points of intolerance. It is also about geographic regions, income, guns and just not being “one of us”. I wonder how many people are killed each year over arguments that never should have escalated. I suspect that number is larger than killings by the mentally ill.*Maybe there should be a movement to “just get along”.
