The only news is old news… Cathy’s mom lives in an alternate universe. Regarding spoiling, I think grandparents should have fun with their grandchildren, yet respect the parents’ wishes. We have a family history of diabetes, so I’ve tried to raise my kids to enjoy sweets, but not to overdo it. My mom doesn’t have any self-control when it comes to eating sweets, which isn’t good for her diabetes, yet used to push desserts on my kids even after they told her “no thank you.” I have no problem with her spoiling them, but I draw the line with encouraging bad health habits (or whining or begging, but I don’t recall her doing that).
