I’m kind of like Cathy on this one. Whenever I move I always try to be organized about it, but eventually I just toss everything in a box and deal with it later.

For the move to and from Spain, I skipped right to step 3. Fortunately for us, the company paid for packers so most everything was properly packed, but I initially had lots of intentions to get things purged and organized before they packed it. And now I’m stuck purging and organizing as I’m unpacking, which will be good in the end but very time-consuming and exhausting now..Hello Cathy clan! Happy Tuesday! It doesn’t seem like the second day of the week. I’m so tired that it seems like Thursday or Friday. Zzzzzz

When I moved, I got rid of as much as possible to try to make the move as simple as possible. But it’s never simple, is it?

I’ve been exhausted too, which makes it really difficult to sit in a long class. My Monday afternoon class is 2 hours and 40 minutes long!

Hello Cathy friends! I want to thank you for the kind words and support, it really means a lot to me. Unfortunately the cemetery has not been kept up and things are not as they should be. There is no office to check with and we looked but could not find my mom’s headstone. We did find my dad’s sister’s headstone and my mom is supposed to be in the same section. As you can imagine, I’m a bit distraught but I plan to check with the city records office and go from there.

Betty MacDonald writes about moving to Vashon Island in her autobiographical ONIONS IN THE STEW:

“Living room draperies” I wrote on a neat newspaper bundle. “Candles, vases, bric-a-brac” I marked a carton. Then somehow I began running out of enough of the same thing to fill a box — also out of boxes and newspapers — also out of strength. By the end of the day I was rolling a jar of mayonnaise, a heel of salami and a half-filled bottle of Guerlain’s Blue Hour perfume in my tweed skirt and not even stamping the bundle “Perishable.”
