Cathy’s mom’s comments aside, if Cathy and Irving are both selling their houses (assuming they are not losing money on them), they should be able to get a decent house with both of their salaries. I agree with GretchensMom where they don’t need a huge mansion with just the 2 of them and 2 dogs. So that should leave them with some money left over to actually save some money. Or not… this is Cathy of course. ;-).I bought my first house for just under 100K and it was tiny, but sold if for twice as much, which helped us buy a nicer second house. Sometimes the effort is worth it..Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday!

Our first house cost less than £3,000 . . . but admittedly that wasn’t yesterday.

Indeed, G.B. … this gesture from Cathy’s mom is nice. However, the world doesn’t work like that, unfortunately. But can’t we just suspend reality for the sake of today’s comic?

    HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.

The house I live in now cost $100 K…25 years ago. We have put quite a bit of money into it, but it certainly suits our needs.

My parents bought a 10 room, 2 bath house with a basement & attic in 1966 for $17000.
