Worser and worser. Guess I’ll give this comic a miss from now on…

No, they don’t!! On the positive side, at least they’re talking about being engaged. I know it won’t last long, but good for you two!

Hello Cathy friends!! Glad to be back! We went to the northeast of Spain to visit family last week and then to Dublin for a couple of days. My first time in Ireland – I really liked it, and I still haven’t seen the countryside, which I hear is gorgeous. :-)Now to go back and catch up on Cathy’s craziness…

@argy Look, unless you’re new here you HAVE to know that this is exactly how Cathy goes. And it will take about a year, I think, but they do eventually get married!

Whew! Just caught up on a week and a half of strips and comments (This was my annual week to spend in the theatre doing the lighting and special effects for our variety show). Seems I missed a lot. Noticed a few new names in the comments too. Re the bets on how long it will last. My late friend and I played taped music for weddings for 29 years – ending in 1989. Saw lots of issues at receptions – everything from members of the wedding party passed out on the floor to fist fights between members of the two families. We knew there was going to be problems with one couple when the groom’s friends asked us to play ‘The Bitch is Back’ when the couple returned to the reception after changing (We refused). That wedding lasted less than 2 years.

OK. I swear—before reading this evening, I said to myself, “Wonder how bad the [eye-roll] will be tonight?” Then, sure enough … (And, yes—that’s exactly why I keep reading.)

Sure sounds like Cathy’s mom is the one getting married—or at least more excited about it.

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

Welcome back lightenup and hendelca. I’m so glad I’m getting to see this again because I think the engagement was just about the time my paper stopped carrying Cathy and I don’t remember seeing a lot of these. It was my favorite comic strip so I think I would remember something as important as the marriage proposal and engagement and I don’t think I’ve seen many of these. It’s great!!
