    depends on if they are all out because of weather or the flu. Many school districts cancel school because of the flu. I think there is a precentage of students out with sickness that lets them cancel and then make it up later in the year.

    If enough students are out sick, they cancel school. Unless the school district has a few screws loose, they already built in 5 snow days. Here, if more than the 5 allotted days are used, the kids stay in school longer. Besides, it doesn’t make sense to keep the school open for 1 student.

    Of course, her class is probably not the only class in the entire school system. They wouldn’t close the school just because 30 students were out with the flu — even if all of them were in the same class.

    Usually, they would put a lone student in another classroom until the rest of her classmates got better and came back. The teacher would then get everyone up to speed at the same time.
