the filibuster is a senate-chosen rule by majority vote.-filibusters sometimes save citizens from very bad bills.-“The People” elect congress to do the People’s Will, buttoo many laws have passed both the House and Senate that the Public Obviously Loudly Shouted in every way possible that WE DO NOT WANT IT….case in point, most recent, the Obamacare travesty that is ruining American health care.

I can’t think of a bad bill or appointment that’s been blocked by the filibuster. Even Robert Bork, a perfectly terrible choice for the supreme court for all kinds of reasons, wasn’t filibustered. He was voted out by a majority of senators, the way the constitution intended bad bills and appointments to be stopped. Nowadays, one solitary senator could have blocked him, because that’s the new normal.

I would rather they used more inspectors for the FDA and inspected food processing plants and drug manufacturers. Thousands get sick and it never makes a headline until it is practically epidemic or racks up a steep mortality count.

Yes, libs usually are the first to break and change rules when those rules get in the way of their various passions. Or they wait – wait til they get a temporary majority and the Presidency and then they slam whatever BS they have on hand down America’s throat. Why not put your BS to a vote, Libs? Or do you know you can’t win otherwise?

I think we need to inspect lib-posters from the west coast. Let’s make sure they pass they “not-currently-inhaling” test.

The “people” shouted loudly about the Civil Rights bills, yet LBJ and Congress finally stood up and did the right thing, and some are still trying to take us back to Jim Crow/poll tax/ separate but equal.

I wanted to agree with you until you spouted your typical ignorance – how can it be ruining healthcare when it’s still being enacted. I went back and looked at your posts. You claimed it was ruining health care BEFORE it was enacted. Ifyou would stick to the facts, you make great points once in a while. Now, don’t you think the filibuster has done far more harm than good, regardless of the bill we may be debating? Honestly? Or are you unfamiliar with that word?-end quote of lifebyc….how can I be “ignorant” when I was closely following congress in the months it took them to work behind closed doors—-Democrats only——and the conservative media was reporting every bit of info possible to obtain?? I talked to my doctors. I talked to other patients who were also opposed to putting the federal government in charge of making decisions best left to doctor-patient.-Did you notice the clamor in the news about the outcry from the public in correspondence to members of congress, both before and after it was bulldozed into law?-Did you appreciate Democrat Speaker Pelosi’s flip reply to the news media…“we’ll have to wait until it is passed to find out what is in it”——? (that is not proper process in producing legislation)

“To inhale or not to inhale…were it better to fly on the wings of dis-cognitive ectasy, or to stand firmly on borrowed and shaky soil…that is the question…” Boxed or un-boxed – I’m still dribs more interesting than your average lib…
