Nobody would have dared. They knew what trouble and pain were and strove mightily to avoid them. A lack of experience allows for a multitude of new mistakes.

What a complete load of crap. School shootings have been going on regularly since the 40s, and they weren’t unheard of before then. It only takes 5 seconds to look it up for anyone interested in learning the truth and not spouting off fantasy.

I recall my Dad telling me about the “Boer murders” (sp?). His school was closed for a time (the shootings did not happen at school) until the killer was caught. A whole family was shot (I don’t recall how many). The sole surviveing member turned out to be the murderer, and it turned out there was a connection to the school, the killer had the hots for the young teacher, but she was not interesed; this was his motive. The murder weapon could not be found, a psychic located it along the road in some tall grass. The year was about 1927. I met the “young” teacher in the early 1980’s.

My school years were in the 50’s and 60’s. I never heard about any school shootings at that time. But then I wasn’t allowed up past 8 PM and the news was three hours later. Didn’t read the paper seriously until my 30’s. I recently applied for SS and now there are guards in those offices and they check whatever bags you bring in for weapons of any kind. A man there had to go back to his car with a little pocket knife as it wasn’t allowed in the building. The guards wouldn’t hold it as they said if they did he wouldn’t get it back. Basically, it would be confiscated. These days, you just can’t trust anyone anymore.
