This strip is heartbreaking to read. I was so shocked at the loss of January, but now I understand it reflects real events in some way…Cory. I have no idea what happened, but I pray that God guides you through this sorrow to find the greatest peace you need.
I’m wondering if she’s actually dead, and it was someone else that he saw coming out of her apartment. The cop was pretty cagey when Cory tried to get details…
I’m still not convinced of January’s demise. As weird as this treatment of her death has been you would at least think there would be some reference to funeral services. Not a peep. So, no, I’m not yet convinced it was actually her beneath that sheet.
Honestly? I’m kind of stunned at all the people rooting for Cory and against Robin. Here you have a guy who, when he was dating January, was constantly talking and thinking about Robin. Regardless of what kind of person either woman was, it’s not cool to do that. You don’t pine for one person when you’re dating another. Then January broke up with Cory in a really low way (over email, was it?), and he went merrily on to pursuing Robin whom he was crushing on while dating January. Then Robin continuously turned Cory down, making it clear she was not interested, but he kept pursuing – also not cool – and he knew what he was getting himself into. Then when he finally got Robin, when she was trying to make the effort to get to know him even though she wasn’t interested at first, he starts to really go overboard talking only about January while with Robin. Again, not cool to pine for one person when you’re dating another. How would he feel if a woman did that to him? If he had dated a woman and she said “yeah, I’m in love with you, and also I’m in love with another guy!” While dating Robin Cory really did not shut up at all about January, and when she complained about it – which she was entirely in the right to do – he was calling her self-absorbed. Was it Robins’ fault that, God forbid, January had come to such an end? Did it make her any less in the right to tell him not to keep constantly texting January while on a date with her? No. Let’s not forget how guilty he must have made Robin feel now, on top of having had to deal with her bf constantly being preoccupied with another woman. I can’t believe how many people here are saying “good on Cory for gaining a spine” and that “Robin was a bad egg all along.” Gaining a spine? How is being a child who doesn’t see anyone but his own infatuation of the week having a spine? How is January a better person than Robin, having dumped Cory when she felt like it, over email, for another guy?

Unfortunately, the treatment of what appears to be January’s death still rings a tad too callous for my tastes.

Where is Omar in all this? He always seems to suspect something!
