Val: Why did you decide to surprise Joan with a trip to Paris? Wally: She's always dreamed of going. Wally: She has a lot on her plate with Max and now Luci...and she never complains about adding my nephew to the mix. Wally: I think it's the LEAST I can do. Val: Wally, I know a lot of guys...there's a LOT less you could do.

Oh dear. Here we go with the Val and Phil need to get married thing again. And I don’t think shes digging at Wally, she knows what a great guy he is for Joan… she remembers Joan’s ex-husband!!!

I agree. I think Val is suggesting that Wally is better than many other men.

Geez! Does she want him to take her sister to Paris or not? Haha.

She’s complimenting him… most guys (sorry guys), wouldn’t be so thoughtful, or mindful of what their wives are doing on a daily basis, especially if they are stay-at-home moms.

It’s really not fair for those people that pop the question during the holiday’s. Legally one shouldn’t because if the engagement is called off the ring could be considered a gift if done during other times the ring is to be returned to the giver. And second if the relationship doesn’t work out, well it kinda ruins the holiday for those people.

And while all this is going on, Max is climbing all over Wally. There’s no greater vote of confidence than the love and trust of a 2 year old. Go Wally!

And now they’re discussing the trip in front of Max? So much for secrecy! (Yes, I know Max barely talks. Believe me, he will talk in the most inappropriate moment.)

I don’t think she was being jealous, just pointing out that some guys WOULD do a lot less & consider themselves generous for taking their wives out for a McDonald’s dinner. I think she was letting him know that he is doing a great thing, not a “least” thing.

I guess I am taking the strip wrong way myself. I know my own husband would not do anything that extravagant and I would not expect it. I have a great man.
