I heard recently that young players need to space their practicing so as not to damage the lips and/or tounge. They recommend 30 minutes practice with a 20 minute break and then 30 more minutes of practice.

The only bad thing about music is that you have to play it badly for so long in order to learn to play it well.

So .. does anyone know where I can find arrangements for flute, tenor sax and trombone? Or do I have to take up arranging?

I bought my daughter a keyboard for this Christmas. Only 15 days of silence left.

Hawthorne: A combo of those, or separate solos for each? If solo, the flute has it made, but the trombone and sax will need to learn concert treble fingering or transpose keys. Then any sheet music, hymn book, or other collection will work. SATB arrangements can by adapted by giving the flute the soprano, the sax the alto or tenor, and the trombone the tenor or bass parts – transposition for the sax required, but hardly a whole arrangement. Beyond that, learn arranging.
