Well, California just had a gov who had promised to ‘blow up de boxes’, meaning he was going to eliminate a bunch of appointed sinecures for retired or defeated legislators and other vips. He made one attempt and the legislators threatened to take away his ability to fill the same kind of positions, so that was the end of that. -He promised to put the state on the path to eliminate its deficit, but got basically nowhere. He did cut a dashing figure in that Hummer, though.
You folks in the USA are a little short on world knowledge, so you may be pleased to know that Markets overseas have been anticipating an Obama win. That’s why global stock markets didn’t move any more than a quiet day’s fluctuation either way.Frankly, we’re relieved.
And WE are here in California, Mr. Zit. And with what part(s) of Mr. Landers’ post do you take issue? From my viewpoint, he’s pretty much spot on.
Jerry Brown has had his struggles, but he’s a rare politician who’s been willing to propose necessary cuts in programs that he nonetheless supports. He’s socially liberal but fiscally conservative. He’s very smart, and he’s very thoughtful, and he’s not rash. Leading Democrats is like herding cats, but I’ll vote for him again.
Californians evidently believe that they can tax and spend their way to utopia.
It will be interesting when they start begging the rest of the country to bail them out when they go under. And the rest of the country won’t be able to help. We are only a few years behind in the process.
Of course we are here on the Earth, and it IS our only space ship! But, just what that has to do with my post on the good of living in both the USA and California?
By the way, what you stated (besides being at least somewhat obvious) fully supports why we should be listening to our trained scientists on such areas as Global Climate Change, and NOT those behind the very industries that are exponentially polluting OUR spaceship!!

Sorry guys, but it was the Senate that refused to act on the 300 bills passed in the House. They need to be replaced with common sense.

That look on the Elephant is priceless. That’s the same look they gave when Obama won reelection.
