A cartoon that reflects how the media covered the campaigns. Lots of poll numbers, but no focus on issues.very sad.C.

three million friggin’ republicans stayed home and didn’t vote. I guessed they were protesting not having the candidate of their dreams. Well, their ploy worked. The only candidate with a real plan lost to an incumbent who simply hands out freebies. Congratuations, stay-at-home Republicans. You’ve got your wish: four more years of malaise.

^clearly the republican party needs to listen to it’s base. the republicans should double down on their war on women, their war on gays, their war on immigrants, their war on marijuana (how’d you like the ‘red’ states that legalized for recreational use!), increase government funding to the church and start more large scale wars.

that will get out more red state voters, for sure.

and i am now a registered republican to help them do just that!

Hello Howgozit,You recently challenged me on why, in your opinion, did I always make accusations about the Republican obstructionism and not mention the Dems. I suggested you haven’t been reading my posts or you would have seen many times I have criticized Pelosi and Reid. I would like to see some examples of your own objectivity. What failures do you see in comservatives? Three weeks ago, I received a small magazine from the Obama campaign with page after page of goals to be sought. I did not see one page talking about Romney, Big Bird, or the senators you mentioned. I NEVER heard a single definitive plan from Mr. Romney, but I did read some of the plans of Mr. Ryan. The former confused me, the latter frightened me. I fear I have to disagree with the premise of your statement. If focusing on nonissues won it for Obama, why did doing so lose it for Romney? Could it be that Obama never changed his position on the issues he’s worked upon, but Romney changed his position frequently? If you look at all the videos since he ran for governor, you could just about have him debating himself on nearly every important issue and at the end say, “He’s Mitt Romney, and at one time or another, he approved that message.”Respectfully,C

And that is what really won it for Obama—no issues. He and the msm zeroed in on Big Bird, Mourdock and Atkin—zilch on the issues.-Issues? You mean like Willard’s tax plans? that he didn’t reveal?-His non specific budget?-Willard’s ‘plan’ to fix the economy — that had no details?-His plan for Afghanistan that didn’t exist?-Willard’s FEMA issue, that he refused to answer questions about?-What issues do you think the msm should have focussed on? Birth certificates? College transcripts?

The issues were huge. Since there isn’t a whit of difference between what the two could do financially, or in foreign affairs, it came down to the kind of america we want to live in. An america where the government is big brother in womens uteruses, gay’s bedrooms, immigrants lives, but gives a free pass to corporate welfare, funding pedophilic churches, and gouging average americans.

No, sorry, it was never close. That was a narrative in the corporate media, but Obama’s re-election was ensured the day Huntsman and Johnson were excluded from the primary debates. The GOP needs real, serious, conservative candidates, willing to put forth a detailed plan and stick to their principles.

The tone you have set between us has made me appreciate you. The fact that you have fought for the rights of those of us who disagree with you makes me admire you and reinforces my desire to maintain my own tone. You never know who you may be talking to in these forums. I am glad we can agree to disagree, but I hope the debates continue.Respectfully, and gratefully,C.

“Wow, braindead—you really pointed out where obama talked the issues. Well done. You just went after Romney and that is all Obama and Biden did the whole campaign trail. Thanks for helping to prove my point.”-So what were the issues that the msm should have focused on?-Romney spoke over and over that he ‘knew how to fix the economy’. How was he going to do that?
