Wow…. almost the same set-up as yesterday’s Betty strip here on GoComics…only reversed.

I watch criminal minds and law and order Svu I think. Other than that wifey watches what ever and I go up and read.

I don’t think it’s gotten any worse, though. We remember only the good shows from the past while forgetting that Sturgeon’s Law goes back to 1958.

The TV series of the 50’s 60’s and early 70’s are the best.

TV (and radio) has never been “free” – only the reception of it is. You did (and still do) pay in the form of what were originally and accurately called “messages of commerce and industry”, which was shortened to “commercials”.

Come to think of it, there was a lot of creativity and “proper” English then – even in the commercials. As witness, copies of the old kinescopes of the Ernie Kovacs show include the LIVE Dutch Masters bits – but Kovacs was a genius….
