Well, gm, the next time the 2008 Obama is running against the 2012 Romney I’ll take Obama’s lack of foreign policy credentials into account. But in THIS election, the difference in their records is huge.
You’re not even close to getting that right. Now, I can’t speak for 21 nations, but my reasons for preferring an Obama administration over a Romney one are probably pretty much typical of many people in those 21 countries. . The developed countries remember 2008 when disastrous Bush/Republican policies threatened to bring down world economies. Many lost half their investments when stock markets tanked. In this age of interdependent economies, many see how even a small country like Greece can shake world economies. People shudder at the prospect of the largest economy on the planet failing, or even sending out shock waves. And the Romney platform looks far too much like the Bush/Cheney failed policies for comfort. America needs to start paying her way. Cutting taxes on the wealthy and increasing the military will not do it. .So to say that countries want America to fail out of envy or for any other reason is just about diametrically opposite to reality.

The rest of the world was wondering where the next version of cowboy diplomacy was going to happen for 8 years, and the fact that we weren’t being led any longer by the worst president ever was enough to make them breathe a collective sigh of relief. On the other hand, Dubya took an entire planet who was on our side after he didn’t protect us from the attacks of 9/11 and squandered all our good feelings in just a few months, turning most of the world against us.You know that Iran wanted to negotiate with us when we overran Iraq. They saw how quickly we could take over, and it made them scared. They told the Dutch to see if they could arrange a meeting, since Dubya wouldn’t talk to them directly. The Bush adminstration told them to go fry ice, as they were part of the axis of evil. Then when we botched the occupation so badly, Iran lost its fear. What would the world have been like if Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld weren’t so willing to dismiss the idea of diplomacy?

But, granted Mitt has said a lot of conflicting things. More to the point, taxes on the rich have to be dramatically increased. The U.S. is a long way in the hole. Revenue has to be raised substantially as well as non-productive spending such as on the military decreased. .“…..And the bank failure brought down our economy. It was not Bush/Cheney……”. Bank failure caused by stupid government policy involving financial deregulation, housing bubble, loss of confidence, unfunded wars, unfunded social programs, tax reductions, massive deficits..“……we have heard from military people saying that that is not true…..”.The Romney/Republican platform calls for a strong military and threats of military action to advance “American interests”. That can only mean more spending on the military.
Romney is with Sarah, his foreign policy will support that great nation: Africa. Which, it’s interesting that the “Middle East” is actually ASIA, but folks keep talking about Egypt, Libya, and even Morocco as “Middle East”, just because their majority populations are Muslim, but well, most Muslims actually live far to the east, and south, of that “Middle East”.
The difference in President Obama’s gaffes and Mitt Romney’s is that in President Obama’s case they are genuine gaffes, while in Mitt Romney’s case (such as 47% of Americans are losers who do not have any integrity, something that is absolutely a lie!) it is what they are genuine beliefs!
Hopefully, such beliefs (not simple gaffes) will lose Mitt Romney this next election, however seeing the general world knowledge as displayed by more that just some on these comment sections, I am admittedly not that sure.
Oh well, this great country has managed to survive some eight years of Bush/Cheney, so I hope we can survive four years of R/R!!
