I feel a bit sad seeing this cartoon, it reminds me of someone I know.

I’ve heard of dog packs before, but….

The Habner’s got Eddie from the lady down the street, when her dog Pippa had puppies.

He was only 6 weeks old, and cute as a button.

She showed them his dainty little paws, and said it proved his father was the feral chihuahua who lives in the Bradley’s tree.

Since they “knew” he’d only ever weigh12 or 15 pounds, tops, they bought that pack…and an adorable little blue dog sweater that says “Killer.”

Hah!Scooter gets around!

They gave up eventually on the sweater, and gave it to the Hanson’s cat.

but it’s so small I was wrong about what it actually looks likeand the icon I mentioned isn’t even around any more…. sigh….In IE you’d see a little red x

,in Firefox a tiny blue square with a white question mark, and in Chrome a tiny one of these…. which I managed to capture and enlarge.

(They are wild and NOT easy to trap…I sat out there in the cold with a tiny icon net….had to feed it wth an eyedropper to get it big enough to view…now shhhh….don’t scare it away….)

When you put exclamation points around some bit of code, it signals to your browser that it’s supposed to display a picture.

But the link she posted didn’t GO to an image…. so your browser puts up its particular brand of symbol for “hey, I can’t show you a picture from this junk!”

This Chrome one seems to represent a tiny picture with a break in it.

And have we settled on Saturday, everybody?Seems like a good idea, considering the storm.It’s after Halloween is over, but the good news is the candy and decorations will be half price!

Lyle Habner is rueing the day that he agreed to portage “little Eddie” to an fro after he outgrew Imelda’s Pink “Pooch Purse”…. and not to mention the occasional sprinkling of “yellow rain”…. he now knows where his place is in the family hierarchy…. Lyle needs to grow a pair….

Taking the B.S. bus to reconnoiter the street, to see which houses are empty and ready to be moved into. Noting especially where Neil and the Habners live, determining to be far enough removed that their treatment of their dog doesnt rub off on my two so that they expect the same treatment. Finding a pleasant place far from the hustle & bustle of the center of it, I call the moving van and have them unload. While letting the men do their job, I go into the back yard and what do I see? The tip top of the TIki Hut, and I feel its magnetism. Since I havent been shopping yet, I figure to go over and see what is on the grill and have a few cold ones. Hope the bartender knows how to grill and mix! We will see, wont we?…

That dog is a party animal. Does it to himself he does! Must invite him to my party.

btw, checked out the kiddie pics @ frog applause’s blog…we were so cute then werent we?…sigh…wish all my pics hadnt burned in the fire we experienced in 87…lost all my pictures and my sons baby book etc…thanks to the big guy for great insurance and for keeping us safe!

beviek, your comments yesterday about places we’ve both lived and your kid picture in FA sent me off scouring my hard drives for stuff and memories. I found an old probably school picture I’ll be sending to Teresa. And here’s an old picture of Lawton I took in ‘71. I took it from the top of Mt. Scott, the highest point around. It’s in the Wichita Mtns. Natl. Wildlife Refuge. The picture looks across Ft. Sill at Lawton and a thunderstorm. You can click it for a much bigger version.Oh, and besides Panama and Lawton, the only place I’ve lived besides here is El Paso. Stationed at White Sands but lived in El Paso.

My little dog will do the same thing when rolled on her back. Stiff her back legs ups and curl the fronts. Sleeps that way and snores like a lumberjack sawing wood with a chain saw. Wife blamed me a few times before catching the dog doing it. We call her Midget white Chihua-Rat Terrier cross.Not quite as “hefty” as dis one.

Position the pack a little lower and he’s got himself one handy-dandy wag bag!

I am going to wear the best costume I know.I go as myself.Seriously scares the heck out of everybody. Men wince, women gasp, babies cry. What my wife sees I will never know.I smile and mirrors crack. I laugh and there is discord in the universe. Chaos reigns and all shall see me and………….bust a gut laughing.My partner (rest his soul) and I use to patrol on Halloween wearing a gorilla mask. We would stop the locals we knew he would jump out acting all crazy and I would gather him back up and put him in the car. I would apologize and we would drive off with him hanging out the window chimping out.I would tell them he is having banana withdrawl.

grrrrrr. I have to wait a full hour more for my fav cartoon just because of Daylight Savings Time. Hurummph. I come from your future and am sick of you lot waiting to catch up!

bit windy and hayfevery – top of 34c today (about 93f). Lovely warm spring.

nah, we don’t really ‘do’ the Halloween thing. A few littlies might come by tonight before dark, we usually get around 10 or 12 all up. More lolies for me.

REALLY hot? Maybe 3-4 days of over 40c (104f) once or twice in a summer. The occassional day of 42 or 43 (107-109). That horrible day in 2009 (Black Saturday) it reached 46.6 (115f). That is luckily very rare. Most of the summer is usually in the high 20’s low 30’s where I live.

Bev - is that why you (sniffle) invited Linda to the Tiki and not (sniff) your old friend….

Your summer high temps sound just like ours here in Northern California….but our averages are much lower than that.

LOTS of days in the 70’s and 80’s and the nights are usually quite cool, even after very hot days.Lucky, we are.

Anyway I never finished telling you, I have a ew assistant who is a VERY good braider…

I know you don’t want cornrows or a head full braids…but she’s VERY fast at braiding in extensions….she can use all 4 hands if she needs to.

(The best sort of extensions for temporary use are braided in for an inch at the roots, not glued.)

He does appreciate a MilkBone or two, but really loves Liva-Snaps…and she’s actually pretty sophisticated…likes bananas, but also would love a snickerdoodle, I think.
