Yeah. This strip was set in a time (early sixties) when the western as a cultural icon was running out of steam — or riding off into the sunset? :) — and other kinds of fantasy were taking over..The downside of nostalgia is that whatever you’re fondly remembering is really done and gone, and the memories are all you have left.
