Think the key word here is ‘comic strips not comics/manga.Come to think of it … what would be a positive role model in Ranma or Urusei Yatsura? (Didn’t really pay much attention any other manga by her.)
-OK, strips, not comics and your are probably right about those two. When I posted the comment, I was thinking about Kyoko Otonashi, the boarding house manager in Maison Ikkoku. Even though she is attracted to Godai, she stays true to her late husband. More subtle than most of Takahashi’s better known works, but still includes her trademark humor.
