Obama did release the SEALS on bin laden, and if the attack on Benghazi had not happened at the same time crowds in Cairo and other moslem cities were rising up in protest, the limited security that was in Benghazi may have responded more effectively. Though, RPGs coming through the windows can be very disorienting from what I hear. Obama’s having way too much fun with the Big Bird zingers…after the debate…would have been of more use during the debate. But generally, Chip, just not your best work. C.
It was NOT “two weeks” for the administration to note Benghazi was NOT just a result of “demonstrations”, the weapons used were quickly identified as being “something else”, and they said so. Now, as for “security” and “intelligence”, Issa, and the Republicans, notably as well Romney’s “shoot from the hip” immediate comments, made things around the world WORSE for our foreign service officers and staff.
“Average Americans” do NOT understand what’s going on with these operations, or “security”, or even what’s going on in the world. Sharing proprietary, confidential, or secret information with the press and “people” is totally irresponsible, and what Issa and Republicans have done. Obama DID credit the SEAL teams and others who “got bin Laden”, and yes, some information probably shouldn’t have been released, but the Pakistanis and others WERE releasing photos and information as well, and sometimes it helps to control the source.
