Mornin’ VistaBill, margueritem, MoonlitKnight, & etc.The question we’ve been waiting for – and even Tracy doesn’t have the answer.(Too bad the colorist thought the second panel was suddenly outside, and replaced the carpet with grass. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have a putting green in his house.)

Odds are Tracy gives her a straight answer. The question is, will Honeymoon accept it as the truth.

Heartbreaking family moment. Honeymoon is growing up so fast! Yes, she can handle the truth. The "truth’ that we have lived with for many years, however, has been called into question. So Tracy should level with her, that there has arisen new uncertainty because of these sightings and the deeds associated with them.

Beautiful job, you guys, of capturing the nuances of the turmoil Honeymoon must be going through at this point. Very well drawn .

It’s interesting that several of you have mentioned how mature Honeymoon is for her age, and I agree. Perhaps moon people develop at a much faster rate than humans? This would account for Honeymoon’s quickened mental and emotional development (as half moon half human) and set the stage for the plausibility of the new Mysta (all moon) being a clone of the original Moon Maid, even though she would be younger in years than Honey.

They told you what they thought was true, but eyes can be misled. Moon Maid is not like you or me: she’s not so easily dead. It’s taken her a while, to be healed and return. Yet always in her heart and mind, her love for you has burned.

cant wait to see tracy’s answer…and in defense of the gocomics colorist, if i were to see the panel in black and white and have to clor it, judging by joe’s “deep pile carpeting” ilustration i would also think it was grass instead of arpet. compare the texture of the rug in the first two panels, then look at it in black and white. its very easy to think that it was grass. and a simple easy solution as to why its grass in the second panel? when tracy turned to talk to honeymoon, the view in front of him is seen thru the bedroom window outside to the yard. does that help at all, or are you all gonna continue to throw stones? (of course, gocomics reserves the right to color those selfsame stones as MARSHMALLOWS, but i digress! lol)

The reflection in the mirror sure does make Tracy loook like Nixon – Probably not on purpose, I would guess.Whenever I tie my own ties, there is a moment when it is straight out like that, because I toss it over during the process.

There would have been body parts found after the car explosion/burning. Whose were they, if not Moon Maid’s? (Oops, the bomber’s, most likely.) Also, where would she have been at, during all of her daughter’s childhood and her husband’s remarriage? (Unless her dad has an Earth base.)

At first, I was onboard with the “standing next to a window” theory, because Tracy wouldn’t have tacky shag carpeting in his house. But closer examination shows the same shag carpeting underfoot in panel one! Go figure! And, yes, that reflection does look more like Nixon than Tracy!

as for the chair disappearing in the mirrors reflection. honeymoon is obviously to tracy’s right hand side so shw owuld be in the mirror, but the chair could very easily be behind tracys left leg, blocked from a reflection by tracy himself. and for tracys reflection? he is lifting his head to tie his tie.. i doubt his “cheseiled features” remain chiseled when he moves his head up or down… and th etie? artistic license provides that the tie was in mid motion in the air when the “picture” was taken. for someone who claims to be a writer/artist/magpie they CERTAINLY dont seem to understand the whole idea behind creativity and art and th eability to deliver a “message” thru images…then again, look who they are TRYING to pretend to be…. lol

I guess I should have clarified my complaint about the coloring here – The art is great – especially Honeymoon’’s expresive face. And yes, Tracy’s tie is seen in mid-air, and his face, tilted up, doesn’t have the hard edges we’re used to seeing. The chair may or may not be visible in the mirror, but like the rest of the room’s furnishings, it would only clutter the image in the mirror, which is a focus point for the panel. My problem with the coloring is that the colorist made the carpet grass green in the second panel only (it’s white – with a blue stripe – in panel one. Coloring, even with the wrong colors, has to be consistent. And crappy coloring distracts from the rest of the strip.S’okay?

Hmm.. this answers a question I had about whether or not Tracy wore clip on ties. Not a smart move Dick, the crook can use your own tie to strangle you. You may want to think about switching to a clip on.

Now, now, now boys, fightin’s out of style. Fun’s where the fair’s at!

Let’s all take a deep breath (and that is inclusive and not exclusive of all posters) and get back to a friendlier tone shall we?

(5 bonus points if you can cite the inspiration for the opening phrase of this post without an internet search!)

There is NO QUESTION the chair should be reflected, at least a part of it in the mirror. Any attempted to state otherwise shows a blind loyalty that tethers on being an obsessionHmm… I think it is possible for the chair to not be in the mirror. The question is mainly one of perspective. I believe the line coming out of the top of the floor lamp in panel one with all of the shading on one side is an indicator of a corner in the room. If this is so, the corner is about 3 ft. to Tracy’s left. The floor lamp is in the corner and the chair is at an angle in front of it. maybe around 45 degrees to the walls. It is most likely used for reading in. The mirror edge shows only part of Tracy’s left leg in the reflection. and we can see a bit of the chair behind him, so he is between the chairs front edge corner and the mirror. His leg is blocking the chair from view in the mirror. The item that I think should be in the strip is the trash can(?) sitting in front of the dresser in panel one. In panel two we see the base and edge of the dresser clearly, although the colorist didn’t color them, but the trash can isn’t there. For awhile I thought it may be an item in the foreground of panel one, but the carpet is on the same plane as the dresser, we see that Honeymoon’s feet are closer to us than the trash can.

@Stagger Lee The other colorist made the carpet green too, although a much more subdued green. Maybe it’s time for Tracy to bring the power mower inside the house!

I’m sorry if you took that as a personal affront. It wasn’t meant as such. I didn’t take the time to parse each and every of the earlier posts to see what seemingly placed a bee in your bonnet. That is why I tried and presumably (sp?) failed in my effort to note my comment was meant for all posters.

Gweedo, the picture isn’t of my house, It is one I found on a site about home design. The green of the old carpet we had was lighter with bits of white and tan mixed into it. It looked like dead grass. It was replaced with a dark brown for a while. Now I have nothing but Karndean Vinyl Floor that looks like wood. Easy to clean and tough.Again, not a picture of my house, but the flooring is the same.

Don’t know if you’ll see this, SDM, but here goes…My opinion about the vanishing chair in panel 1 has nothing to blind loyalty to anyone. It’s based on artistic composition. Here, the most important element is the reflection in the mirror, which becomes a defecto panel unto itself. But as it’s set in the background, youhave to limit what’s reflected to keep the readers’ eyes focused. Comic strip panels are small, and tend to be reduced to micro size, so you have to be selective in their contents. You want to keep the readers’ eyes focused on the subject, and not get lost in an ocean of lines. So no chairs, or other furniture, is reflected to limit visual clutter.(Or they were bought at Dracula’s garage sale.)
