Short explanation, Jell-O® is made from gelatin which is an animal product rendered from the hides and hooves of animals.

In the 19th century, well-to-do people ate “calves foot jelly” which was a version of it.

    A horse is a horse,
    Of course,
    Of course.
    That is, of course,
    Unless the horse,
    Is wild cherry…..
    …and jiggling.

How do you prepare a horse to become Jell-O? Take him out with a Jell-O shot.

Except it isn’t horse, it’s pig. That’s why many who eat kosher don’t eat Jello. Or gummy candies. Some do, since it’s far removed from the meat, others don’t, but I know it is because of pork, not just any animal.
