John McPherson makes us howl at his adroit mix of everyday settings and extraordinary events. John’s offbeat, oddball characters turn up in familiar places, but their actions are always hilarious and unexpected.

For what it’s worth: Supposedly, the inequality has to do with how meat sellers and bakers like to sell their wares. More here: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/560/why-do-hot-dogs-come-10-to-a-pack-while-buns-are-8-to-a-pack

Hey it is the only place in life we get to use the lowest common denominator that we all had to learn in grade school see the industry is only trying to make that useless math work for something…

Why is it the bun-man’s fault? ….I think it’s the hot dog guy who should have to answer for this.

“See, the thing is, life doesn’t always work out according to plan so be happy with what you’ve got, because you can always get a hot dog.”

They have — they all sell “bun size” hot dogs. Sure they’re longer and fit the bun better, but the real key is the 8 to a package.
Alternate solution: Beanie weenies.

Get better hot dogs that come in packages of 8.

Its a conspiracy. They put more buns in bags then hotdogs so we buy more hotdogs…but then we have to buy more buns….then more hotdogs…and so on…its a viscous cicle
