Target is one of three chain stores I’ve seen in town without a sign posted at the front door banning guns. The other two stores sell guns.

People are just uncomfortable with a bunch of wacko’s who feel compelled to take their AK-47 to the grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk. It is just a matter of time until one of these morons feel “threatened” by someone and they start “defending” themselves in the middle of a Best Buy store.

Actually, in Georgia the “open carry everywhere” bill went into effect on Tuesday, and they’ve already had an armed confrontation between ammosexuals at a convenience store. At least in Florida you don’t have to decide whether an armed person in a store is a robber or just a gun nut. You can just shoot them, and figure it out later if you care.

Lay off the accusations of lying you’re making against everyone here. We could as easily make the same accusations against you with exactly the same validity. Also, given your record of links, it’s a bit much for you to be demanding them of others.

They should be required to case their weapons in balloons to represent the mouse-sized condoms their other “equipment” can get by with.

The point is that though it is legal Target and other places are forbidding the carrying of weapons in their stores.

The difference is that Target isn’t banning open carry in its stores as such—they;re just politely asking people not to do it. Mostly in response to idiots who were abusing their rights I’m sure responsible gun owners will gently inform their less careful brethren that it’s time to play nice.

Churchie: actually it constitutes “criminal trespass” if told to leave and they don’t, or if it’s posted outside “no guns allowed”, the sign is enough. Remember, those stores are still your precious “private property”.

Yes, I respect my private property rights, including telling crazies they can’t come on my property with their guns. My neighbor’s property IS signed “NO HUNTING, NO SHOOTING”, while mine is not. But anyone shooting any of “my” deer, and trying to recover them, would be illegal due to law if they didn’t specifically ask permission to cross my fences. Fences and doors represent “trespass”, and not just for uninvited vampires.
