and I am glad. In the short term there may be a few more gun related deaths. But in the long run, the country as a whole is much safer with guns in the hands of as many people as possible. If any foreign power wants to take over (hint hint china) they will think twice before stepping foot here.

Any Foreign Power wanting to “Take Over” won’t do it militarily, they will do it financially.
Not saying I approve, or that it will happen suddenly, but that IS the way it will happen. A hundred accountants with computers can do MUCH more damage then 100,000 troops in the long run.

A bunch of rednecks with AR-15s or the US nuclear arsenal. I’m sure it’s the AR-15s that will discourage an attack.

According to FBI stats, in 2011, there were 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.
But hey, don’t let a little thing like FACTS get in the way of a good liberal panic.

Nikita said “We will bury you”, and he meant economically, not with weapons, but the “cold war” bankrupted them, and, if you notice our national debt’s real source, us as well, he was right.
Upgrading to a harvester does represent the truth.
I also remember back a few decades when the “righties” were so concerned that the Chinese were lining their people up to march across the sea to overrun the U.S. by sheer numbers of troops, apparently the JBS folks are still in the “never forget” brigade, along with all those flying the Confederate battle flag?? Hmm, is there such a thing as a “Mint TEA julip”?

YFI, twisting facts again? Try using the term, “fire arms”? Oh, don’t like those numbers? How many murders with flintlocks?

rightisright, as the saying goes, figures don’t lie, but liars can figure. You stated that there were 323 murders committed with rifles in 2011. You somehow failed to point out that there were also more than 11,000 additonal murders with handguns and other firearms.
*
And then you accused others of letting FACTS get in the way!

Right is right is merely parroting the people who he feels are his betters. He didn’t get those numbers himself, they’re copied from liars at right-wing blogs.

A couple of years ago, a kid in Canada took his single-shot .22 to school and opened fire. One other kid was slightly wounded before they grabbed him.
That speaks volumes.

Great graphic!
.
Who is most likely to “take over” the USA?
.
I’ll say that the multinationals are the prime threat to the status quo.
.
Look at the Koch Brothers and the Jack Welshs of the “United States”. They aren’t interested in “United” nor in “States” nor int “United States” they are looking 100 years out when political boundries are completely obsoleted by internation commerce and data flow.
.
Gun’s won’t help you.

Why on earth would China try to take over militarily? They just need to buy us – and just about have already. It’s a capitalist’sndream.

@DrCanuck
Since we were talking about China, it’s appropriate to mention that in China a madman went on a rampage with a knife in a school last month. Though he injured 22, none died.

-since when is a legal weapon in the hands of a law-abiding American a crime that needs an apology?
There’s a lot of people out of work and under-employed as well – let’s hear a solution for that…
